Our study conducted with the support of Animal Welfare Japan (AWJ) and in partnership with leading international universities, assessed almost 80 wild animal cafes across major Japanese cities. While these venues may look fun on social media, the findings were clear: these establishments are severely failing the animals they keep.

Why We Need Your Help:

The report discovered that welfare standards in these cafes are shockingly low. Wild animals, including owls, snakes, otters, and capybaras are all unnecessarily suffering.

❌ No Space to Move: Animals are kept in tiny, confined spaces that prevent them from acting naturally.

❌ Constant Stress: Being held, petted, and handled by tourists is stressful and unnatural for wild species.

❌ Health Risks: Close interaction poses safety risks to both the animals and humans.

✅ BE PART OF THE SOLUTION

We are asking the Japanese government to change the laws to protect these animals. But we also need you to vote with your feet.

We are asking you to make a simple promise. Sign the pledge below and agree not to not visit or support any exotic animal cafes.

Your choices have power. When you refuse to visit these venues, you send a powerful message that animal welfare matters more than a photo opportunity. While we work with policymakers to phase out these cafes, take the pledge to ensure your next trip is cruelty-free.
