Animal Artists Host Wildly Successful Charity Auction
Wild Welfare is celebrating the success of the Association of Animal Artists (AAA) annual online art auction, which raised an outstanding ÂŁ3,595 in August. This remarkable fundraiser was made possible through the generous donation of almost 100 original pieces of art provided by the talented association members.
The popular online auction attracted hundreds of bids from around the world, from both art and animal lovers alike, with several pieces selling for over ÂŁ100 each. All funds raised will directly support Wild Welfare’s vital work to end the suffering of captive wild animals around the world through their collaborative projects.
“We are incredibly grateful for the amazing effort shown by all members of the Association of Animal Artists” said a Wild Welfare Director, Simon Marsh. “Their commitment to continue helping us give a voice to protect vulnerable animals is truly inspiring. The funds raised will allow us to continue our work to improve welfare standards in zoos, aquariums and sanctuaries and while providing essential training for animal care staff.”
The charity extends its heartfelt thanks to every artist who contributed their beautiful work and to everyone who placed a bid. Their collective passion and generosity are helping to make a real, positive difference to the lives of countless wild animals in captivity around the world.
Chairperson of The Association of Animal Artists and Wild Welfare Ambassador, Megan Elizabeth, expressed how incredibly proud they are to have raised such a fantastic amount thanks to the annual charity auction. “This is always a favourite for our members and it was lovely to see so many members getting involved”, Megan remarked. “We are so pleased to have been able to contribute to the amazing work done across the globe by Wild Welfare”.
AAA’s incredible support for Wild Welfare is set to continue with their Autumn Exhibition in Richmond, UK running from September 25th. This event offers another fantastic opportunity for the public to view and purchase beautiful artwork while helping to make a genuine difference to the lives of wild animals globally.
