Introducing Our Newest Member of the Team!

Today we are excited to introduce the newest member of the Wild Welfare family. As of the beginning of August, author, illustrator, and communications specialist Tash Turgoose joins Wild Welfare as our new Communications Manager.

Tash has an extensive background in the communications industry, having gained experience working across borders and sectors within both government programs and NGOs. She is also currently in the final phase of a PhD in crisis communications, through which she has worked to tell the stories of the little-known victims of Chernobyl radiation poisoning in Belarus.

As an impassioned storyteller, Tash has multiple publications, with the most recent being as illustrator for best-selling author Levison Wood’s The Last Giants: The Rise and Fall of the African Elephant.

While she feels fortunate to have enjoyed a diverse career working across the communications industry, her long-term admiration for David Attenborough and his remarkable storytelling ability has had her dreaming of working within the animal space since childhood.

Tash says, “For as long as I can remember, I have loved animals and storytelling; and while I am grateful to have experienced a rich, varied, and meaningful career in communications thus far, I had not yet found an opportunity to marry this with my passion for wildlife.”

“Now, I get to do exactly that!”

For Tash, working with Wild Welfare presents an exciting opportunity to combine her two great loves, whilst supporting critically important causes. She will work closely with our team to create innovative, story-led communications promoting Wild Welfare’s continuing commitment to improving the welfare of captive wild animals.
