Animal Welfare Training in Cuba

Wild Welfare is delighted to share the Latin American Zoo and Aquarium Association (ALPZA)’s blog on the recent animal welfare training we attended in Cuba.

There are currently 22 zoos in Cuba and at least one aquarium and in order to achieve greater integration among these zoos and to promote their development, in December 2015 the Cuban Zoo Company was created. This took over the administration of the National Zoo of Cuba and the Zoological Garden of La Habana. It is expected that in the coming months and years, more zoos across Cuba will become part of this company.
