Conservation good and bad from CITES Red List

The latest updates to the CITES Red List of Threatened Species includes the news that severe population decline has moved the Eastern Gorilla from Endangered to Critically Endangered. At the same time the Giant Panda’s status changes to Vulnerable from Endangered, in recognition of worldwide conservation efforts that have increased its numbers.
