Meet Andy, our new Communications Manager

We are pleased to welcome Andy Watson to the Wild Welfare family, as he joins us to take up the role of Communications Manager.

Andy has almost a decade of experience within animal centric marketing communication roles, where he has spent time collaborating with various zoos and animal charities across the globe. He also has experience generating engaging digital content for a UK based wildlife charity.

Andy said: “I’m very excited to become a part of the team at Wild Welfare! I have followed their project updates for many years and I now look forward to actively making a difference and positively driving the charity forward into an exciting future.”

“Having the opportunity to apply my unique experience and skillset within this charity will allow me to make a meaningful contribution to a cause I deeply care about, while leveraging my expertise to drive positive change and make a tangible impact on the lives of animals.”

Andy was first involved with working alongside Wild Welfare during the 2018 collaborative relocation project of four Ussuri Brown Bears from Hokkaido, Japan to their new improved home in the UK (read the full news article here).

“This animal rehoming project was a collective achievement between many international organisations and it was my job to ensure the public were engaged with this exciting story. It was a huge team effort and I was honoured to play a role within this tremendous project.”

His unique blend of technical and creative expertise, coupled with a genuine personal passion for animals and their welfare continues to be the unequivocal motivation behind connecting and engaging audiences with vital wildlife matters. Going forward, Andy will be overseeing and managing Wild Welfare’s full scope of communications.
