Join us on #GivingTuesday

Today is Giving Tuesday! This day is a day of global giving. A day when everyone everywhere can do something to support good causes around the world! But there are so many to choose from, we hear you cry! Sometimes it can be overwhelming about who to choose to support when there are so many fantastic hard working charities, and let’s face it, a little frustrating sometimes to be asked for money too often.

So we aren’t going to…well not right now!

Instead we want to do two things. First we want to celebrate all the wonderful charities carrying out amazing work for people, animals the environment etc. Did you know there are around 200,000 charities registered in the UK alone? 44 million people regularly donate to charities and yearly, the UK public are incredibly generous, giving around 10 billion. Wow!

Animal welfare charities in the UK range from having hundreds of staff to very small charities like ourselves, but all of us are passionately working to improve the lives of animals in the UK and around the world.

Secondly, we want to tell you about our really exciting Christmas Campaign Appeal that aims to help more animals live a life worth living. We’re so excited to be one of thousands of fantastic charities accepted on to the Global Giving Platform to showcase what our work is achieving and what we want to achieve in the future, thanks to all our supporters.

This Campaign appeal goes on all December with a special day on the 11th where EVERY donation given that day is matched – so doubled at no cost to the donor!

Giving Tuesday is a day to celebrate all the wonderful work that charities do and isn’t just about donating, so here are a few suggestions for you on how you can take part in Giving Tuesday and make a #GivingTuesdayPledge really easy to achieve!

  • Take a look at our “Help an Animal Live a Life Worth Living appeal and if you like it, share it with your friends on social media! As a small charity, are social media reach is small compared to much larger charities, but a retweet/share/like is no less important and can make us feel warm and fuzzy knowing we are supported!
  • Take a look at volunteer opportunities within charities to see if you can use your particular skillset to further their charitable action!
  • Support your small local charity as well as large international ones. Supporting something that is local can be very meaningful to you and we promise, as a small charity ourselves, EVERY PENNY means the world to us!
  • Remember our Christmas appeal goes on until the end of December – so if you’re not sure what to get your aunty Jo or Uncle Bob for Christmas, we think a donation on their behalf to help more animals around the world could be a jolly good idea!

Have fun on Giving Tuesday and thank you for your continued support of Wild Welfare and other charities, we promise it is always appreciated!
