MoU Signing for Animal Welfare Partnership

We are delighted that Wild Welfare recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Zoological Parks Organisation of Thailand (ZPO) and North Carolina Zoo in the USA (absent in person for this signing).

We took this opportunity at the Southeast Asian Zoos and Aquariums Association (SEAZA)’s recent annual conference, this year hosted by VinPearl Safari Park in Phu Quoc, Vietnam.

This MoU was an updated version of the MoU signed earlier this year between the three organisations to reflect an exciting ‘Partner for Animals‘ partnership, to support continued animal welfare improvements. Through this partnership we have already seen some fantastic animal welfare actions within the the ZPO member zoos that North Carolina Zoo staff and Wild Welfare visited earlier this year.

This MoU demonstrates the commitment by all organisations to work together for animals and we are extremely grateful to North Carolina Zoo, ZPO and their member zoos’ enthusiastic and active participation in the programme. We look forward to another great year of activity for animals in 2020!

Thank you to Dr Jenny Gray, Past President of WAZA and CEO of Zoos Victoria, and Dr Lâm Pham, Past President of SEAZA, for witnessing the signing of the MoU.
