Meet our new Operations Manager!

This month we’re thrilled to welcome Simon Marsh to our team here at Wild Welfare. Simon brings a wealth of experience with him, having worked for more than 20 years in the zoo and safari park community.

Prior to joining Wild Welfare, Simon was animal collection manager for a well-known UK wildlife park. Animal welfare has always been his priority within his work in zoos, where he has focussed on designing and constructing large scale habitats for captive animals that allow natural behaviour and freedom of choice. His other experiences include working with wild animal rehabilitation projects and wildlife sanctuaries in Africa.

Simon said: “Having worked in zoos in the UK for many years, it is a great opportunity to put my knowledge towards improving so many more animals’ lives around the world. I am very happy to be working for Wild Welfare, helping them achieve their mission to protect animals in captivity.”

Simon will be coordinating Wild Welfare’s new welfare partnership programme Partner for Animals, that will be utilising the sharing of expertise from the leading zoo and aquarium community to support the development of high standards of animal management and care in the zoos we help around the world. We’re very excited Simon has joined us – welcome to the team Simon!
